A 5 days’ gorilla tour starts and ends in Kampala. This safari takes you tracking in Bwindi, being the most biologically diverse areas on earth. Bwindi has four habituated gorilla families in thicker tropical forest and tracking is more challenging as the hillsides are steeper. From Bwindi Forest, head north to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking and birding at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, Local community tours and guided nature walks around the park, and finally return to Kampala.
Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi
After an early morning breakfast and the safari briefing, head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest while driving through the Uganda’s Switzerland, Kabale. The nature walk will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and a chance to see Primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue monkeys and others species. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
Early morning, have a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed. Take with you packed lunch and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, one of the most exciting wildlife experiences while heading to the ranger headquarters for the gorilla activity briefing. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours with the help of experienced guides. It’s amazing to listen and observe the gorillas in the forest while they marvel and grumble to each other. Other mammals here include the rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephants, black-fronted diker's, bush bucks, leopards, giant forest hogs. Have a relaxed afternoon of an option forest walk. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)
Day 3: Enroute to Kibale Forest
Enroute to Kibale Forest through Ishasha the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park prominent for its tree-climbing lions. You will observe a diversity of animal species while having lunch. Continue to Fort portal town then up to Ndali Lodge or Primate Lodge for dinner and overnight (FB).
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking at Kibale
You will be taken to Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing with your packed lunch, before you go for our chimpanzee tracking and other primates including Red-Colobus, phoestes, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabey. When walking through the forest, you will see a diversity of plant and animal life which is an incredible occurrence. After lunch, have a Bigodi Swamp walk in bid to view the birds and monkeys that inhabit the swamp. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge (FB)
Day 5: Departure
Enroute to Kampala to find your departure flights, having a lunch stop over.
