This safari takes to Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Lake Mburo National Park and finally Ngamba Island.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Meet and greet our Adventure Trails’ driver or guide. Head for wildlife viewing at Uganda Wildlife Education Center. Here, you will be able to see rhinos, monkeys, snakes, tortoise, lion, bird life and many others. Pay a visit to the botanical gardens to appreciate different plant species. Dinner and overnight at Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel, Entebbe
Day 2: Entebbe – Kibale Forest
After breakfast, you will depart Entebbe for Kibale Forest National park arriving in the afternoon. Have lunch enroute and while heading to Kibale which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey and Red Colobus. Arrive late afternoon for relaxation or visit the close by later lakes. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge (FB)
Day 2: chimpanzee tracking
Go for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest with packed lunch; track the noisy chimps and other primates crashing around through the high canopy of the forest with colorful birds squawking in close proximity such as Grey-Throated Flycatcher, Masked & Black-Capped Apalis', Chestnut-Winged Starling, Orange -Tufted & Tiny Sunbirds. After, walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary which is managed by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental organization to see swamp birds. The swamp is a home to approximately 137 bird species and it’s also rich in vegetation, such as the main papyrus, wild palms and polita figs. Day 3: Enroute to Queen Elizabeth
Relocate straight to Queen Elizabeth National Park located in Western Uganda on Mount Rwenzori foothills. While driving, take keen of the wild game that you may come in contact with, on your way to the park. The game seen will depend on the season; the Kasenyi plains are good for lion and the Mweya peninsula for a variety of animals. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Jacana Safari Lodge / Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 4: Kyambura chimpanzee and a boat cruise
Early morning have an expedition to Kyambura Gorge nearby to track chimpanzee. Alternatively go for a nature walk in Maramagambo Forest to see other primates and visit the bat cave and the blue lake. After Lunch, head for the boat cruising at the Kazinga channel. As you cruise, you will view variety of birds and animals and of course the wonderful scenery. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Jacana Safari Lodge / Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi
Have an early morning game drive with packed lunch while proceeding to Bwindi via Maramagambo and Ishasha sector. As you drive along the road via Ishasha sector, animals such as the climbing lions, water bucks, elephant, antelopes, buffalo, Uganda Kobs, can be seen along the road. On your arrival at the park, relax around the accommodation units. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)
Day 6: Gorilla trekking
Early morning, have a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed. Take with you packed lunch and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, one of the most exciting wildlife experiences while heading to the ranger headquarters for the gorilla activity briefing. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours with the help of experienced guides. It’s amazing to listen and observe the gorillas in the forest while they marvel and grumble to each other. Have a relaxed afternoon of an option forest walk. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)
Day 7: Bwindi - Lake Mburo
After breakfast, you will proceed to Lake Mburo National Park passing through the Switzerland of Uganda (Kabale) with beautiful scenery and terraced farming arriving at Lake Mburo National Park in the afternoon. You will view the wildlife that is in the dense thick Vegetation hence a fascinating environment. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp
Day 8: Lake Mburo to Kampala
After breakfast, have a game drive while returning to Kampala.It has an estimate of 68 different species of mammals such as Topi, Impala, Zebra, Buffalo, Eland, Roan antelope and leopard, Hyenas and jackals. Have a stopover at the Equator and look at the Royal Drum makers arriving in Entebbe in the evening.
